Uvas South Bay Triathlon XVII
The Swim: Uvas Reservoir is open to the public for swimming only one day a year, exclusively for the South Bay Triathlon. The reservoir offers some of the cleanest water around, and features 68 to 70 degree water temperature in May. Wetsuits are encouraged for safety, but are not mandatory. The swim course is well laid out and participants swim around a natural wooded and tree lined peninsula. Swimmers follow the shoreline, and finish at the boat ramp on the opposite side of the start.

The Bike Course: Bikers, you need to keep your heads up and obey all city traffic codes and Highway Patrol Officers. All racers need to be aware that the race course is not closed to vehicle traffic and we urge you all to be safe and stay to the right side of the road at all times. Course is marked with cones, chalk, police officers and volunteers. This course has rolling hills and is very scenic. Bikers pass by reservoirs, wineries and rural ranch-style properties. There is a steep hill climb of approximately 1/2 mile in length near mile 11. At the corner of Sycamore Avenue and Watsonville Road a mandatory slow down will be strictly enforced.
