The Swim will be held in Lake Almaden. All participants will
be required to complete the 500 yard event. Water temperatures in
June will be 68 to 70 degrees, and wet-suits will be allowed, but
not mandatory. The swim will be well monitored by several lifeguards
and kayak teams to insure safety.
The Bike will be 10 miles in length. The Mt. Bike will be 1/2
on road, and 1/2 off road. The beginning features a very steep, paved
grade. Approx. 3/4 of a mile in distance, this hill will test the
beginner and intermediate racer's VO2 - max. - capabilities. The Mt.
Bike's first half will be a demanding, paved race. The second half
of the course is when the fun and technical portions begin. Participants
will find the likes of fire trails, single tracks, side mountain climbs
and maybe even a little water.
The Run will be a very fast, scenic, paved out & back 5K (3.1 mile) course. It will be highly visual for spectators. All racers will end at the same finish line being used for the San Jose International Triathlon.
The Finish: Racers will finish on a grassy area. Finishers
will enjoy music, a professional race day announcer, computerized
finishing times, food, drinks, and an awesome awards ceremony. Participants
can refuel with food and drinks.
