San Jose International Triathlon
$3,500 Prize Purse
This year the San Jose International Triathlon will be hosting the third annual West Coast Collegiate
Invitational. The collegiate wave will be composed of all of the West Coast Colleges competing in the
West Coast Collegiate Series. This series is made up of four races that enable college teams to compete
against each other throughout the season. The West Coast Collegiate Invitational is the second race in
this series and is the most sought after by the teams and athletes.
This race is a fast, flat, high impact course that will be different to most teams who are used to long
climbs on the 24.8-mile bike and long grades on the 6.2-mile run. The San Jose International is known for
its super fast flat course and sometimes-grueling summer heat. This will push all of the athletes to
their mental and physical ability in a last chance to claim victory. Only the strongest and most
adaptable will be able to take home the purse, and be able to call themselves "The Best in the West."
Rankings:
All of the teams will be competing in a head-to-head battle for a cash purse of $3,500.00, that will be
donated to the schools Triathlon program. Rankings will be determined by the top three male and female
athletes finishing times combined. Collegiate teams must have three finishing male and female athletes
to be included in the team rankings. The fast total times from these competitors will determine the day's
victor and ultimately who rules the collegiate arena on the West Coast.
Rules:
All USAT rules and regulations will be enforced. Most importantly this is an Olympic Distance non-draft
legal race. For more information regarding rules of USAT please refer to their rules and regulations
