Confirmation Letter

This is your official confirmation letter for the Catfish Open Water Swim at Steven's Creek Reservoir. The Catfish Open Water Swim will be held rain or shine on Sunday, July 20 at the pristine Steven's Creek Reservoir in Cupertino, CA. This letter contains valuable information regarding this years race. Please refer to www.japroductions.net for important updates closer to race day.

Confirmed Athletes: Arrive at least 1 1/2 hour early. This years event will begin promptly at 8:00 a.m. It will be held at Steven's Creek Reservoir.

Race Packet Pick-Up: Will be Race Day Only! Race Registration opens at 7:10 a.m. sharp!

Champion Chip Timing: This race will be timed by using Champion chip timing. All athletes will be given a chip that you will be required to wear, usually being worn on the ankle, and the chip is water proof so you will wear it on your ankle during the swim. If you do not wear the chip during the entire event you will not be timed. This is the responsibility of each athlete!! For more information, visit our timing partner at http:www.athleteslounge.com

The Swim: Water temperature should be approximately 70-72 degrees. Wet suits are allowed. There are two swims, 1.2 Miles and 2.4 Miles. Skin and Wetsuit divisions for both distances.

Waves:

  • 2.4 Mile Swim will start @ 8:45 a.m.
  • 1.2 Mile Swim will start @ 8:00 a.m.
Post Race Massage: The Sports massage services PERFORMANCE PLUS will provide massages for a nominal fee of $10/10 minutes, $20/20 minutes ($1/minute).

DIRECTIONS: Stevens Creek Reservoir is between Cupertino and Saratoga
Stevens Creek Reservoir is located along Stevens Canyon Road and Mt. Eden Road in the foothills between Saratoga and Cupertino. To access the park from Cupertino, take Interstate 280 to Foothill Expressway. Follow Foothill Blvd west three miles to the northern park entrance. (Foothill Blvd changes into Stevens Canyon Road as it crosses McClellan Road) The Reservoir will be on your left.

From Saratoga, travel north on Highway 9 to Pierce Road. Turn onto Pierce Road and travel 1.8 miles to Mt. Eden Road. Turn Left onto Mt Eden Road and travel 2.0 miles to the reservoir entrance.
